About 1 hour 40 minutes from Catania airport. Civil ceremonies are celebrated by the Comune di Pachino, which includes Marzamemi. Accommodation in the village itself is limited, so most guests stay in Noto or Portopalo.
Getting married in Marzamemi
Marzamemi is tiny: an old tonnara, two squares of low stone houses and a harbour full of small boats, at the very southern tip of Sicily. Piazza Regina Margherita, with its church façade and cafés spilling onto the sand-coloured stone, is one of the most charming wedding settings in the Mediterranean.
The village is a favourite for summer weddings with long tables in the square and a session on the rocks of the old tonnara while the sun goes down over the Isola Grande.
