Why Sicily
An island that gives you five different weddings in one country
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and it behaves like a small continent. In ninety minutes you can move from the Greek theatre of Taormina, with Etna smoking behind it, to the golden baroque of Noto, and from there to the salt pans of Trapani where the water turns pink at sunset.
That variety is why couples from London, New York, Sydney and Berlin choose a destination wedding in Sicily over the more predictable Italian lakes: the light is stronger, the food is better, the costs are lower and the island still feels like a real place rather than a wedding factory.
My work is documentary. I do not interrupt, I do not build scenes. I know where the light will be at seven in the evening in Ortigia, which alley in Ragusa Ibla is empty at that hour, and when your grandmother is about to cry — and I am already there.

How much does a destination wedding in Sicily cost?
Sicily is one of the best value destinations in Italy. A celebration here typically costs 30-40% less than an equivalent day on the Amalfi Coast or Lake Como, because venues, catering and accommodation are simply cheaper. Photography is quoted by days of coverage, not by guest count, so an intimate wedding and a 150-guest celebration cost the same to document.
When is the best time of year to get married in Sicily?
Late April to mid June, and mid September to late October. You get warm days, long golden light and towns that are alive but not overwhelmed. July and August are hot and fully booked; ceremonies then start after 18:00. February brings the almond blossom around Agrigento, and winter is excellent for elopements.
Can we get legally married in Sicily as foreigners?
Yes. Non-resident couples need a Nulla Osta issued by their consulate in Italy, plus the declarations required by their own country, filed with the local Comune a few weeks before the date. Many couples handle the legal paperwork at home and celebrate a symbolic ceremony here — which removes almost all of the bureaucracy.
Do you travel across the whole island?
Yes, and beyond. I am based in Catania, so eastern Sicily is home, but I regularly work in Palermo, Trapani, the Egadi and the Aeolian Islands, and I travel across Italy and Europe. Travel inside Sicily is included in every collection.
